Position Description:

The Human Resources Assistant will be based in the Boston corporate office and will be part of a six person team providing HR support to an organization of 500 employees spread across fourteen states. The individual will have responsibility for managing a range of tasks related to the hiring and ongoing support of TCB staff. We are looking for a team oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a good sense of humor.

Essential Functions:

Administrative:

  • Assist with submission & processing of HR invoices in the YARDI system
  • Maintain employee files
  • Back up for the receptionist lunch and absence coverage (average one hour per week)
  • Assist with creating employee correspondence such as departing benefits paperwork, employment verification letters, garnishment notices, etc.
  • Distribute mail to the HR team & assist with creating UPS labels as needed
  • Assist with special HR events such as benefit/wellness fairs

Payroll/Benefits:

  • Assist Employees with ADP system access, including registration, reset, and general support
  • Assist with payroll and benefit transactions, such as processing Payroll Change Forms (PCFs), Benefit enrollment/change forms, direct deposit & W4 changes, and other items
  • Time and Attendance
    • Approve timecards & PTO requests in the HR overflow group
    • Assist with timecard deadline/follow-ups
  • Assistance with running and distributing reports from ADP, such as new hire & termination reports
  • Process employment & wage verifications in timely manner

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with special projects and other tasks within the department as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Applicant must possess excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • Quick learner, with ability to learn new processes and systems
  • Good team player, with ability to work effectively with a variety of different people
  • Must poses strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to organize, analyze and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to respond and adapt to changing technology is required and willingness to do whatever is needed to help the team succeed.

Education & Experience:

The position requires an associates degree (minimum); prior experience in HR and experience using ADP is preferred but not required.
