This position supports the Northeast. Location is flexible, but ideally looking for someone within 100 miles of NYC/Boston.


Purpose: Responsible for the management, deployment and performance of the Business Development representatives focused on residential and commercial architects. Provide direction to the BDR-A's and influence personnel to develop competencies that increase market share and role effectiveness in the architectural segments.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Business Development Representatives - Architecture (BDR-A's), collaborating with their local Territory Sales Representatives to create demand within the residential and commercial architectural segments within their respective geographical area. Support the integration of the BDR-A's within their regions and determine ongoing BDR-A educational requirements.
  • Collaborate with Sales Director, Regional Sales Managers and Commercial Sales Managers to develop comprehensive trade focused sales programs and initiatives to increase market share and deliver measurable sales growth within the segment.

  • In conjunction with commercial segment and marketing managers, develop tools and promotional materials to increase brand awareness, specifications and sales.

  • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers on programs and processes to drive market share gains in the residential and commercial architectural segment.

  • Provide insight to sales leadership on the residential and commercial segments.

  • Develop qualitative and quantitative insight in their markets on the architectural segment to identify products and services to grow share and provide to appropriate business units.

  • Direction of Others:

    • Manage Business Development representatives and work closely with Regional Sales Managers to grow share in assigned markets. Manage architectural sales team deployment to drive incremental sales growth.Influence marketing and business units on the development of products, programs and tools to support the architectural segment in their markets.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field or equivalent experience, and 3-5 years experience managing geographically dispersed, professional sales staff required.
  • Knowledge of codes, regulations and construction management including energy, sustainability, and Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) or "green" building practices, for both residential and commercial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of general business practices, including basic sales and marketing principles, as well as Commercial and Channel sales practices.
  • Knowledge of the residential and commercial architectural segment and a demonstrated ability to direct a segment-focused sales team to influence specific behaviors and market share gains.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve business success in terms of measurable sales and margin results personally and through others.
  • Strong ability to coach and train in selling and product knowledge skills, and to motivate professional staff to exceptional levels of business performance.
  • Excellent analysis, planning, program development and communication skills, including demonstrated skills in large and small group presentations.
